Water proofing

The wet areas for tiling have now been water proofed, ready for the tiler next year. Today the carpenter was there working on the door frames and installing the doors. As most tradies are starting to wind up for the year, there probably won't be any other work done til January 2013.

SS was hopeful the kitchen would go in before Xmas but the timing didn't workout with the manufacturer.

Today found the garage door intalled. Pretty happy with the colour.

Locked out!

Today the carpenter was onsite installing the doors.....yes, we are now officially locked out!

He will be back tomorrow installing all the doors before Xmas.....apparently the painters want to start in early January 2013.......sounds good to us.

So no kitchen today, but more important we are all secure. But likely the kitchen will be in before Xmas shutdown.

A few photo's......unfortunately with the early evening shadows

Stairs.......and a couple of other things

A few things have been done since my last post. The lower floor brick work has been cleaned. So pleased with the brickwork, they have done a really great job.

And the chipped brick on the balcony I mentioned from an earlier post.....well that was for the electrician as that is where they drilled through for the electrical wires, as we are having a powerpoint in that spot and I forgot!

Last week they also installed the cornices over 2 days. They are decorative in most areas of the house except the walk in robes, pantry etc

The roof tilers were also back to cement the lower floor ridge capping.

Today, the staircase was installed.....and we love it! The hand rail will be stained. Also the edging where the balustrade is will be stained, as will the bottom two steps.

The kitchen is booked in to be installed this week, so I am guessing we'll be locked out soon too.

Gyprock

Yesterday the insulation was installed......the one day we didn't visit the site. Today the majority of the gyprock was completed. Finally we get a good sense of space within each of the rooms. Pretty happy so far!

Slowly progressing

This week the wet weather has delayed things a bit. The roof over the garage and alfresco is almost finished, eves and painting to be done next week.

Electrican and aircon ready to go.....just waiting to be water tight.

Work a bit quiet this week...

This week the building work was a bit quiet again and not a lot of progress. The scaffolding came down on Monday and they have started on the 1st floor roof above the garage and back of the house, the guttering and facia have now been installed.

However progress was hampered due to some rain & storms towards the end of the week so not a lot can be done then.

Hopefully a few days of sunny skies and we'll see some more progress next week with the remaining roof tiles laid and capped, the first floor bricks cleaned and eaves installed and painted. Then we will ready to go inside.

2nd floor eves done and bricks cleaned

A bit quieter on site this week. The 2nd floor bricks were cleaned on Monday, very happy how they look. The majority of brick work looks great but we did find one large chip in a brick on the balcony, so hopefully they can fix this.

Later in the week the 2nd floor eves were done and today the painters were there. It did rain around 12pm for about an hour so they must have managed to get it all done.

Next week they will remove the scafolding and complete the 1st floor roof and eves.

Second floor roof installed

Earlier this week the guttering and facia were installed. Thursday the sarking and yesterday the roof tiles were laid.

Happier about the brick colour now, it goes well with the guttering and roof colours we have chosen.

Our tiles: Gunmetal Classic
Guttering: Monument
Facia: Evening Haze

They have not completed the first floor roof above the garage at the front and at the back over the leisure room and alfresco. Hopefully they'll be back next week to complete that bit.

Next should be the eaves and brick cleaning.

Some people think a building site is a dumping ground for their unwanted items.
 Anyone need an ironing board?
